What Is LVNV Funding?
If LVNV Funding appears on a notice, phone message, email, text, or credit report, slow down and identify the account before responding. The name on a collection item may be different from the company you originally borrowed from or paid.
What to verify
Document the details shown in writing:
- Company name on the notice or report
- Original creditor
- Current creditor or debt owner
- Account number, if provided
- Balance claimed
- Date of first contact
- Mailing address and phone number
- Whether validation information was provided
If the account is unfamiliar
An unfamiliar name does not automatically mean the account is wrong. Debts can be placed with collectors or sold. But you should compare the claimed creditor, balance, dates, and any account number with your own records before paying or disputing.
If LVNV Funding appears on your credit report
Compare the entry across each bureau. Look for wrong balances, duplicate reporting, incorrect dates, missing dispute notes, or an account that does not belong to you.
